The OSA and the Aberystwyth Branch of the OSA were well represented at this year's Founders Day celebrations in Aberystwyth. The event took a sllghtly different spin this year and after the traditional kicking of the bar, the celebratory breakfast was held at the Bandstand.
Over breakfast we saw a new short film of the Old College restoration project and Faye Thompson, the Collections Coordinator showed us the proposed content and layout of the museum rooms featuring the history of the University. It all looked very impressive and engaging!
The Bandstand was opened to the general public from 12-4pm. OSA members assited the University Archivists who had encouraged people to bring in their photographs and various other items to donate or to copy. It was like being on Antiques Roadshow!
We also had the opportunity to tell people about the OSA and what we do and met some very interesting people who all had various connections with the University, in some cases through 3 generations!
